Featuring Young Professionals through our 2022 NCFDC Summer Internship Program

Each year, with the support of the Government of Canada (Canada Summer Jobs), NCFDC provides exceptional learning and career development opportunities for young people. Internships help them to gain insight and experience into the world of innovation and entrepreneurship—from finance to engineering to marketing and communications.

This summer, Devin McDonald, Sanjay Deoram and Grace West—three very talented young people—are now working on special projects out of NCFDC corporate offices at Venture13 in Cobourg, Ontario.

From Left to Right in the post image: Devin McDonald will be starting his third and final year of the Computer Security and Investigations program at Fleming College. “I am so happy to be working for NCFDC and the V13 Policetech Accelerator this summer as an analyst,” said Devin. “I am grateful for this opportunity and the experience it will bring me.”

Sanjay Deoram is a fourth-year student studying Computer Science at Ontario Tech University also working on the NCFDC-Cobourg Police Service joint initiative. As a Software Developer at NCFDC, Sanjay is engaged in a digital transformation project assisting the Police with online process innovations.

Grace West is a student at Durham College in the Entrepreneurship and Small Business program and is currently NCFDC Marketing and Project Support Intern. In addition to assisting in content creation, developing graphics and copy for social media channels, Grace also provides key project support and assistance for NCFDC programs like StrikeUP—Canada’s leading digital conference for women entrepreneurs.

“I think it’s fantastic to be able to support so many businesses—not just here in Northumberland but across the country,” said Grace West. “The conversations, engagement, partnerships and impact speak to what we can achieve together.”
